FLORIDA GOVERNOR'S CUP 200 - UPDATE

(10.19.09 - FASCAR Media) The 44th Annual Florida Governor's Cup 200 is scheduled for the weekend of November 20th and 21st at the historic New Smyrna Speedway. Officials have announced the addition of a $10,000.00 bonus this week that is being put up by one of the track's sponsors.

MJS Concrete, Inc out of Oviedo, Florida has sponsored the $10,000.00 Bonus for any driver that can win both the Florida Governor's Cup 200 and the Derby in Pensacola.

Only one time in history has such a feat been accomplished, back in 1972, when Ed Howe drove to Victory in both races, widely regarded as two of the biggest Super Late Model races in the Southeast.

In addition to the Bonus Money and the new Weekend format of the race, Ricky Brooks, long time Tech Inspector at Pensacola was announced earlier this year as the Head Tech-Inspector for the Governor's Cup.

The Friday Night schedule will feature double points for the FASCAR Weekly Racing Series Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, Mini-Stocks and Super Stocks as they complete their 2009 Points Season, with 3 practice rounds for the Super Late Models rotated into the schedule. Saturday Night will feature a 50 lap feature for the Pro-Trucks, 25 laps for the Strictly Stocks, and the 200 lap 44th Annual Florida Governor's Cup for the Super Late Models.
