Results From Modified Tire Test
10-12-2017 - New Smyrna Speedway

Results from the tire samples collected after the completion of the Modified 50 on Saturday, October 7, 2017 have been received by New Smyrna Speedway. The samples were taken from the top two drivers in the points standings.

The sample taken from Wayne Parker's tire was found to not conform with the benchmark set through testing of the manufacturer Hoosier 750. Note: the tire in question was tested twice.

Therefore, Mr. Parker has been disqualified from his first place position in the feature race. The driver has been contacted by speedway and will lose points & monies for the October 7th event.

A sample was also taken from Jerry Symons tires. The sample from Mr. Symons’ tire matched the benchmark set through testing of the manufacturer Hoosier 750.

All testing was completed by the independent laboratory Blue Ridge Labs located in Lenoir, NC.

Points awarded to the drivers participating in the event will be updated.

Any questions on this ruling should be directed to New Smyrna Speedway's Technical Inspector Jeff Sutcliffe or General Manager Kim Brown.
