New Smyrna Speedway Teams Up with Bronson Speedway for Sportsman Series
A new racing series is coming to the state of Florida, and this time it isn’t a Late Model series or a Modified series. This time it’s the Sportsman driver’s turn. A new six-race Sportsman car series is heading to New Smyrna Speedway and Bronson Speedway beginning on April 22 as both tracks continue a partnership that was started in 2016.
The new series will feature six 50-lap races that will each pay $1,000 to the winner. The first race will be at New Smyrna on April 22 with the final race taking place again at New Smyrna on the day of the Governor’s Cup 200 on November 12. New Smyrna will also host the third race on August 26.
Bronson Speedway, in Archer, Florida, will host races on May 27, September 30 and October 14.

Ann Young and New Smyrna Speedway have had a great working relationship for a few years and we hope this decision will help grow the Sportsman division.”
The new series will race using the New Smyrna Speedway Sportsman division rules at both race tracks. Drivers will have the choice of using Hoosier Racing Tires or American Racer tires at Bronson Speedway. However, drivers will only be permitted to use Hoosiers at the three events at New Smyrna Speedway.
The division will also feature a points fund to be awarded at the end of the season.
Drivers will also not be required to pay an entry fee to the races.
