The 50th Super Bowl is about to take place this weekend as the Carolina Panthers seek to knock off the Denver Broncos in the golden anniversary of the historic football game. While that monumental event takes place in San Francisco, another big sporting event is about to turn 50 this month in Florida. The World Series of Asphalt of Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway will enter its 50th year when the green flag flies on Friday, February 12. Read More 

World Series Title Sponsors Announced

PPG, Tower Sealants, and Southern Paint have partnered with New Smyrna Speedway to become title sponsors for the Pro and Super Late Models at the 50th Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.

The PPG Pro Late Model Series will run a seven-race series starting Feb. 12 and ending Feb. 20.  The Super Late Models will also run seven races in nine nights, starting on Feb. 12.  The final race will be on Saturday, Feb. 20, and that is the Southern Paint 100.

Second Round of World Series Entries Released

Anderson Takes Red Eye 100 Victory

Cole Anderson of Northfield, Minnesota took the victory in the season-opening Red Eye 100 for the Super Late Models on Saturday night, holding off Bubba Pollard and early leader Kaz Grala. Meanwhile, in the Zack Donatti Memorial 100 for the Pro Late Models, former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Mike Skinner came out to take the victory. Full Results
